About me - Bobby Brown

About me

For those who are interested, my name is not Imani, but Bobby. My friends and relatives all know me as Dave or David though that is not my middle name.

I'm married to a wonderful woman and have three terrific kids-19, 11, and 4 months (there's no typos, those are their ages!) We live in a very modest house in a very typical Midwestern neighborhood. I've recently discovered that, to my chagrin, we have the same problems and concerns of just about everyone else.

I write because somebody somwhere (and for some reason) actually thinks that I'm pretty good at it (I hope that you are one of those somebodies!) and because I enjoy making people laugh almost as much as I enjoy getting people to question "The System".

Besides writting I like cooking, playing saxohpone, reading, board games, running, and just taking time out to be quiet.

If you like what I've written please let me know. If you don't like what I've written let me know that as well. Criticism is always welcome, but only positive remarks will prevent you from being kicked in the shins!

Politics, News & Issues > Drug Laws & Prevention A case to legalize drugs in America

The late comedian George Carlin once said during a stand up routine (paraphrasing) " If firefighters fight fires  and crime fighters fight crime then what do freedom fighters fight?" It is through this lens (reminiscent of the firefighters who started fires featured in Ray Bradybury's dystopian classic  Fahrenheit 451 ) that we must view the current War on Drugs and drug policy in the United States.  We must ask ourselves if a policy that was started forty years ago by President Nixon, and has cost us over a trillion dollars to date is rea...
