Writing is my primary interest. Reading everything I can get my hands on is a close second.

In 2006 I authored a memoir titled "Someday..." which chronicles a very small slice of a unique time in my life. I currently have one fictional story titled "Promises" looking for a publishing home, and two other works of fiction in progress.

As a former elementary school teacher, turned medical office administrator, I honed my writing skills for 30+ years on lesson plans, policy and procedure manuals, job descriptions and business proposals and reports.

On the side, I perused writing classes. In my heart, I was a freelance writer just waiting for my opportunity.

Being a member of Helium affords me the opportunity to express in writing my opinions and ideas on myriad subjects, and to exchange feedback with others who share my passion for writing, reading and life.

I like children, my family, flowers, happy endings and countless other things too numerous to list.

I dislike that time passes too quickly and there are not enough hours in a day.

The Magic Place

Jonathan looked at his watch and then out the window. At 6:00 a.m. the park below was void of people and litter and maintained it's serene appearance. He walked across the room to the closet, in search of a jacket. Reaching in, he bumped into something hard and cold. The harp; that foolish, obsolete instrument Anna had played so well. He had not thought of it again since he pushed it to the back of the closet six years ago. The same way he had pushed thoughts of Anna to the back of his mind.
