I do not believe that a single-sex school would have any bearing on how well a child learns. The ability to learn is partially hereditary and partially instilled in a child's first few years. However, it is not uncommon for any form of mental trauma to cause any kind of learning disability.
I think it is often misconstrued that a more educated child is a superior learner. Typically, single-sex schools are private. That generally allows for stronger budgets.
