I write for several reasons.
In the opinion arena, it helps me to understand what I believe.
In the fiction arena, it is to get the characters living in my mind to stop bugging me about telling their story.
As one of my articles states, sometimes the words have meaning and value, sometimes, they don't. But it is fun, and I could not stop anyway. (Well, if someone wants to pay me enough not to write, I will listen to all offers.

Imagine. A world of brotherhood and peace. John Lennon's or Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream? Yes, I know selecting Imagine as the best song of all time is a popular choice and I also know it is perhaps one of the most discussed songs of all time. I feel much the same about Dr. King's speech. And really, they are about the same thing. The men were different, but maybe not so much: King used his training as a preacher, a public speaker to proclaim his dream; Lennon used his musical talent to get the word out.
