About me

Claire Anne Rementilla is a happy and easy-going seventeen-year old. She loves traveling more than anything else. Claire is very hopeful and optimistic, while still realistic. She is very family oriented, and loves her gigantic Filipino family parties. She has friends of many cultures, and briefly knows how to speak in four other languages. She is incredibly passionate when it comes to capturing moments, as well as turning her thoughts and ideas into intricate lines on paper. Music from around the world inspires her to a point of no return. She owns a Nikon D-SLR camera that she loves with all her heart, and is in the middle of completing a novel with her friend, Alexandra. Claire has been a published poet for the American Poets Society, with her poem, "The Stinging Truth" happily located within the Reflections anthology. She is also the Regional Finalist of 2008 for the Live Poets Society of New Jersey! Claire is proud to be part of the First Place Group V State Champions, the West Orange High School Marching Mountaineers since 2005. And within her high school, she is the Editor-in-Chief of the Cobblestone Literary Magazine, as well as the President of the Interact club. Claire hopes to pursue her dream as a travel journalist. She wants to change the world by showing people the truth. With her unique touch and poetic way with words, she knows that someday her dream will come true. Claire's definition of journalism is the art of expression through thought, fact & opinion, and creativity. Journalism is important to her because she feels it is a way for people to learn from one another and help others see a different part of the world or an issue through the eyes of someone new.

I hope to one-day make a difference, no matter how small.

"We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection." Anais Nin

There hung an angel attached to wires. It smelled of ashes. She often told me that there was a fire once, laying in her deathbed she reminisced of the walls the fire could taint, I said, Ready or not, here I come! and pretended I held a scythe in my small hands still caked with red paint. (was it paint, was it paint?) She often told me that I would die someday, laying in her deathbed...
