Rapidly approaching 40 and finding myself at an unexpected crossroads. I was recently dismissed from my job as a casino manager which has taken me completely by surprise and it's now a case of 'what next?'.

Yesterday I ended it,
The time had come at last,
A present of desperation,
Forged on memories now passed.

My action now seems empty,
And I fear my own mistake,
I am learning of the after,
Have I put my soul at stake?

I have no idea where I am,
Or what will happen next,
Though strangely fascinating,
I'm equally perplexed.

There seem to be some others,
But no-one to advise,
I know that they're around me,
Even though I have no eyes.

There seems to be a force here,
It's pulls at what I am,
I wonder where I'm going,
Is there purpose or a plan?
