I am the joint steward for Movies in the entertainment channel, and hope to help develop Helium as the first source for anyone looking for the low down on movies.
Without any training or previous experience I stumbled upon review writing in 2005. Over the last few years my writing has improved, hopefully drastically. I now make a reasonable second income writing reviews in books, publications, and online review websites. I try to write in a manner everyone can understand, none of this reading while sat with a dictionary trying to identify the meaning behind the big words I have learned this week, I put this factor down to my continued success.
In joining Helium I was unsure of my writing ability, and while I know I have an awful lot to learn, entering into the spirit of things and writing an article that gets to the number 1 spot sometimes over 100 other writers is a thrill and a buzz that money simply cannot buy. Helium provides a certain joy that no other site of its type can deliver.
A big fan of movies my heart lies in the world of horror. My passion is Italian thrillers also known as Giallo, and Italian Horror.

I have great memories as a child, the whole family gathered round at Christmas to watch that big blockbuster movie; but something I always feel strongly about is that for a movie to have that real longevity and real appeal to the younger audience the film really needs to be set in the present; the reason? Because kids have great imaginations, and they love to believe that the sort of things that happen to the kids in these could happen to them. Goonies, Lost Boys, Gremlins, Back To The Future, and Independence Day all being prime examples of this, good family movies that all can relate to. ...
