I am a 65 year old woman, wife, mother, and grandmother of five grandsons. Like most writers and wannabe writers, I read voraciously. My interests range from the newspaper to the classics with a stop in every catagory on the way. Words facinate me. They educate, inform, entertain and inspire. They can also aggravate, humiliate, frustrate and bore.
Over the years I've held jobs that included secretary, personnel assistant, director of personnel and security for a corporation, and owning my own businesses. I learned a lot from each one.
Even at this stage in my life I find many things to interest me. The new move toward holistic health care, the dynamics of the computer age, the ease of travel and the vast amounts of information to be gained from such travel, quantum physics, the Hubble telescope, and the list goes on and on.
I have two basic rules that I try to live by. First, if you are alive then live with enthusiasm. The second is that every day is a good day if you let it be.
My passion is ...
learning
I know too much about ...
pain
My parents always told me ...
If you want a helping hand you'd better look at the end of your arm.
My childhood ambition ...
To be a writer.
My favorite memory ...
The year my husband took me on a business trip with him to Washington, DC. We had to fly to New York to catch our flight back to San Francisco. We had a four hour layover so we took a helicopter downtown, went to the Frick museum, then had lunch at the Russian Tea Room. It was my birthday and I will never forget that day.
Why I write ...
Because I can't NOT write.Whether it's a book, or a poem or simply a letter to a friend, I must write. I love blogs for this reason.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Currently I am reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, I'm watching the history and science channels as well as Food Network on television, the last movie I saw was Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst, I listen to Kenny G and love arias from my favorite operas on CD.
My first job ...
My first job was in a drug store where I worked behind the soda fountain.
My best moment ...
Is yet to come.
My inspiration ...
Stories of people who do selfless acts in behalf of others. Also, people who overcome enormous odds to achieve their goals.

The problem seems to be so widespread that it is nearly impossible to find a person who does not have a child with ADHD or knows someone who has a child with this condition. In my own experience as a holistic health counselor, mother, grandmother and friend of parents with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, I have frequ...
