Gone Gone are the golden pastures of youth Gone are the gutteral howls of laughter from ancient times Gone are the natural springs of childhood memories Now all that remains are sunken holes with rubber Gone are the smells of dew in the morning Gone are the porch swings and lazy afternoons Gone are the days of shooting rocks in the creek Now all that remains are houses with no past and no future Gone are the voices of idealistic measure Gone are the chances never renewed Gone are the faces so clearly etched in the minds eye Now all that remains are headstones and dead roses Plastic earings...
