WRITING EXPERIENCE:
Having a creative side, I like to create in many different mediums, but writng is one of my favorite. I enjoy being here at Helium, having the ability to stretch myself and continue to learn.
I have had four articles sold to two different travel sites and have placed in two different channel contests through Helium. I have also had an article featured on the home page. In addition to writing here, I have been writing SEO articles for different web sites.
If you find my style will suit your needs for content, please contact me. I would be more than happy to provide a sample of sold articles also.
MY HISTORY:
It was kindergarten, in Mrs. Miller's class, when I learned to form letters into characters with faces. My art work was shared with the other kindergarten teacher and I remember Mrs. Miller saying that she had paid someone to do the same thing. At that time, my Mom also sent one of my alphabet drawings, along with her letter, to my uncle in a Prisoner of War camp in Hanoi, N. Vietnam during the Vietnam War in the sixties. She kept a carbon paper copy of all her words she sent him in a drawer ( I later took a peek at them when I was able to read). It was then that I knew letters that formed words were special.
It took me awhile to learn the skills needed to make my own words flow, but it was Ms. Franklin (later Mrs. Erickson) that said she would give us, her high school students in her creative writing class, all the skills to write. It was a challenging class, but I've kept all my handouts and red pencil marked papers safely tucked away in a manila envelope for references. They've moved successfully seven times.
Now, almost thirty years later, I'm ready to write. I'm learning new skills to consider for the type of audience for which I wish to write. There were no web surfers back then. Words are powerful and permanent once they are written down. I like to craft them in such a way to influence or help people visualize. The point in life is finally reached where I'm interested in sharing my experiences and challenging myself with writing to different genres.
I consider myself to have a creative mind, but also being somewhat of a perfectionist stops me from putting my work out there with out me feeling good about it first. This keeps you from viewing some of my works or me from creating. I also create in different mediums, such as creating displays at a friend's thrift store, sewing with my own patterns, and I think the artist skills would flow if I would let them! You could say I don't like to stay in the lines; my address book is full of doodling and the backs of junk mail envelopes have writing all over them.
I hold on to my junk mail pile (way to long) in the great Upper Midwest state of Minnesota, where I live with my very understanding husband of 26 plus years. We have enjoyed traveling and camping and look forward to doing more. We have three adult children and lots of pets. Our old farmhouse has been our on going project for about 20 years. I work for a machining manufacturing company as an inspector /shipping receiving/production support person. I get to work with my hands and pay attention to detail and due dates. I also posses experience in retail, having been trained in fashion merchandising and management.
One final note: Although, we later learned that my uncle was never in the P.O.W. camp (he was killed on impact and buried) and never saw the alphabet drawing; I like to imagine my drawing was opened by someone at the prison and it touched them. Just happy smiley letters-no translation needed!

After seeing Ferrero's presentation of its Rocher chocolate candy, one would think that this is worth the money you spend to impress the chocolate lover in your life with Roucher gold wrapped candy. Advertising that implies that this is the heavenly chocolate that was once shared only by the gods, encourages us to share the secret of gold with others.
What is the secret? The candy itself is a chopped hazelnut and milk chocolate covered hollow wafer filled with creamy milk chocolate reminiscent of the Ferrero's Nutella hazelnut spread. Inside of this creamy chocolate filling is one whole ...
