It's easy to get bogged down by jargon when trying to find a definition for "Digital Technology". In actuality, it's quite a simple, elegant concept. Historically, electronic signals would send messages across the wire or radio which differentiated between letters/numbers/sounds by using different 'volumes' in the signal.
