The crown of the woodpecker, who stops daily by tap tap tapping fringed in fresh spring leaves. The sky after rain, gentle clouds chased east by rising sun. A curl of smoke from hands cupped against cold, knuckles chapped. We laugh, and light hits joined skin bathed in warmth.
