Writing has been a passion of mine for years. Whether writing academically or just for fun, I've always enjoyed it.

When writing academically I reach for little known topics or a new spins on old stories. I prefer bringing something new to the table, rather than just rehashing what you probably learned (or should have learned) in your High School history classes. History should be fun and interesting, not stuffy and boring

I have a few older short stories posted here as well. Currently, I am doing research for a new mystery story. Also, I am working on maturing my writing.

I am losing faith in "Change". EdSec Duncan seems to be more hype than "Hope". I had a lot of confidence that Arne Duncan would clean house and sow the seeds for some real gains in education. There is a bit of egg on my face at this point. While Duncan and Co certainly push changes in the education system, these changes are more novelties than substantial improvements. Some take issue with the business-like manner Team Duncan takes on education reform. Personally this is not a problem for me.
