I am a retiree living in a heaven known as Florida.
Recently widowed after 62 yrs of marriage, that produced 6 children and as of this date 15 grandchildren and 5 great grand ones.I was married to an American G.I during the 2nd W.War. I came to America not knowing English and armed only with a 4h grade education. So you might say as the French Wit Sacha Guitry did.." Everything I know I owe to my ignorance."

After a life time of raising Michelle, Joan, Monique, Jay (now Dr Jay) Pierrette and Alexandra - I have since written 2 books entitled "Le Cafe'de Cadix" (about my early life in Algiers No Africa) and another one in concert with my children and grandchildren called: "Grandmere Awesome family's Cookbook."

Many years ago when my son Jay was starting High school he asked me whether it would be alright if he joined the School Football team. I told him an empathic NON (I'm french!) further explaining that there was no future in it for him,since he did not intend to use it as a career,and that all he could get in the end were broken bones,if not worse.! I thought it was the end of that! Was I wrong!
