I grew up in Namibia, and to this day I prefer the brown sand dunes to the beautiful mist-filled green forests and blue mountains where I live now.
I started writing when I was about four, by cutting words from a newspaper and relying on my dad to show me the next word I needed for my story; sometimes my sisters would give me wrong words and have a ball when my stories turned out funny. I remember one about a duck that didn't want to eat, turning into a truck that didn't want to breed; I didn't even know what breed meant :-)
I studied some aspects of art: painting, sculpting, weaving, pottery, singing, acting, and went on to write poetry, songs, plays which I produced and later on short stories and novels, one of which is soon to be made into a film.
The best works of art we are blessed to sort of 'own', were achieved in conjunction with my husband: the six great individuals who were born to be our children, two sons in law, and five lovely grand-children who already joined our extended family. There are also 4 dogs, and soon a Burmese kitten named Picatso

What I want What I want is a whole lot of you amongst mountains and rivers and sky so blue; maybe a meal of bread and wine - but what I want most is to make you mine. So come to me, baby, drink to my eyes, let's talk a long time without goodbyes; let magic sing through heart and veins bring love to the land where sorrow reigns. What I want is a life with you: a fountain and roses and paths with rue. Maybe I am an old fashioned bore, but what I want most is to end this war. So come to me baby, drink to my eyes, let's dream a long time without goodbyes. Let magic sing through heart and veins...
