I used the following system to potty train two out of three children and in both cases they were dry in less than a week. The golden rule - when the nappy comes off don't be tempted to put it back on unless the child is going to sleep. The first child took 6 days. The second child only took 2 days but she was older and had the advantage of having watched her sibling. Preparation: Block out a week on your calendar, ideally during a time of the year when the child can play outside and in light, easy to launder and easy to pull down/up clothes.
