When I was a little girl, I used to read the King James Bible under the covers by flashlight. I want to understand "THE WORD".
I've written something everyday of my life, for as long as I can remember.
Words fascinate me, they always have. I believe that words have feelings that bring them to life and they must be allowed to move and breathe, so that they are able to transport you into the middle of the action.
I began writing short stories in 2006. I immediately won a writing contest, which gave me the courage and motivation to continue writing short stories.
I wrote poetry in High School and College, but I don't do that so much anymore. There is one I wrote that sticks in my head maybe because it's about my ex, who has anger issues.
There a rooster in the hen house
spittin' n scratchin'
There's a rooster in the hen house
kickin' up dust
There's a rooster in the hen house
just makin' noise
crowin' in the mornin'
flappin' his wings
he's bullyin' the hens and other ugly things
There's a rooster in the hen house y'all
struttin' around....
makes you ask the question - "Why ain't we got no eggs?"
I know it's rough, but it truly reminds me of him. I have five children, they all write, with the exception of the youngest, he's six. I have remarried and now I have eight children!
