Just a Gen X girl living in a lonely world...
Well, not too lonely. I've got a husband. And a small son born in 2004 when the snooze button on my biological clock stopped working.
I live in the Houston area in a fixer-upper house that seemed like a good idea when we plunked down a down payment on it a few years back. My husband looks at the house and sees "potential." I looks at the same house and see a "hell hole." To some degree, we may both be right. It is a hell hole with a lot of potential. I hate it. We have come to an agreement that I am not allowed to threaten arson any more. The good news is that he never reads what I write on the Internet.
I currently work in the marketing department of a large corporation near downtown Houston.

I want to matter. Just a little bit.
I am an independent voter. Generally speaking, people affiliated with political parties look at the independent voter as a sort of political trollop. I swing both ways (Democrat and Republican), I'm not loyal to anyone but my own desires, and just because I vote for someone once doesn't mean I won't vote for someone else the next election season. In 2008, though, tramps like me decided the election, and by and large we decided on Barack Obama.
