A colorful and too often painful history has been the backdrop for more than two decades of my written ramblings, poetic tributes and familial diatribes. Basically, I write what I know!

Multi-faceted experience as a gay adolescent, a homeless teenager, and eventually as a counselor for "at-risk" youth, helped to shape my viewpoints and influence the topics that I now find of interest. I write on numerous topics across a number of channels on Helium, but my articles on relationships & family and society & lifestyle best express the spirit of who I've become on this journey through life; however, it is poetry, my earliest form of written expression, that often best bares the burdens of my soul.

My passion is ...

1) celebrating diversity; 2) continuing to challenge myself!

too many of the "wrong" things, according to others! lol Is that even possible?!

My childhood ambition ...

was to be a circus tightrope-walker or an interpreter for the deaf!

Why I write ...

because my soul requires an outlet for my experiences!

Right now? A nature vs. nurture debate in reference to serial killers.

My first job ...

"Phone Sex Operator" at age fifteen - I was a precocious kid! :)

My inspiration ...

is found in the beauty and ugliness of everything that surrounds me.

"The Girl Inside"

Concealed within the camoflage of time
When city streets made way for college books
A frightened little girl stayed locked inside...

Too young to live out on your own, you tried
To comfort yourself with drugs that hooked
And hid beneath the camoflage of time.

Crouched underneath a cold bridge in the night
When Vodka failed to ease the chill, you shook
and wrapped your arms around the girl inside...

The nights you couldn't stand another look
