: About Me

A colorful and too often painful history has been the backdrop for more than two decades of my written ramblings, poetic tributes and familial diatribes. Basically, I write what I know!

Multi-faceted experience as a gay adolescent, a homeless teenager, and eventually as a counselor for "at-risk" youth, helped to shape my viewpoints and influence the topics that I now find of interest. I write on numerous topics across a number of channels on Helium, but my articles on relationships & family and society & lifestyle best express the spirit of who I've become on this journey through life; however, it is poetry, my earliest form of written expression, that often best bares the burdens of my soul.

My passion is ...

1) celebrating diversity; 2) continuing to challenge myself!

I know too much about ...

too many of the "wrong" things, according to others! lol Is that even possible?!

My childhood ambition ...

was to be a circus tightrope-walker or an interpreter for the deaf!

Why I write ...

because my soul requires an outlet for my experiences!

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Right now? A nature vs. nurture debate in reference to serial killers.

My first job ...

"Phone Sex Operator" at age fifteen - I was a precocious kid! :)

My inspiration ...

is found in the beauty and ugliness of everything that surrounds me.
