About me

I got married Woodstock Weekend. Drove right by the thruway exits oblivous of what was going on there on way to New England for honeymoon. Funny how I loved the music of the 60's but didn't have any knowledge of this event until after the fact. Anyway, still married. Two children. One just graduated college and one still "pacing herself" as Bill Murray so eloquently stated in Stripes. Pondering several things - retirement, writing a couple novels, following some band around the country - Moody Blues or CSN or America. Wondering how I missed a group like October Project when they were popular. But content - at least right now. Making enough money as guidance counselor/drivers ed teacher. Making some trips - live in Texas but trips just completed or planned to Florida, California, and New York. Biggest wonder - wonder if I'll see a basketball (Mavericks) or baseball (Rangers) championship in my lifetime. Good chance for Mavs, not so good for Rangers!

I believe it would be very difficult to get rid of the intentional walk rule. I personally do not like the intentional walk, especially when it is happening to my favorite player. However, if a rule were in place banning the intentional walk, I fear that we would still see numberous "unintentional" intentional walks. A pitcher would merely pitch four one bounce pitches to the batter, or four pitches just far enough outside that the batter cannot reach them, or four pitches so high that I batter cannot reach them, or a combination of these or other unhittable pitches.
