About me - Larry Terry

About me

I am a career Navy Veteran of over 18-years and am originally from a small town of about 70,000 people in Albany Georgia.

I joined the Navy because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, and to learn different cultures. I come from a very large family of 9-children (5-sisters & 3-brothers).

I don't claim to be an accomplished writer, but I write because I do it from the heart. I love sharing my ideas to an audience that can appreciate my points of view. In fact I have written my first novel, entitled "Looking Into The Eyes Of Evil" which is located on my favorite links of this page.

The freedom of speech is one of the greatest rights we have in the United States, and I think everyone should be heard, because everyone has something to offer.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read my articles, along with my bio. Thank you so much.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

As much as I like helping others who may be in a worst situation than I currently am in, my greatest passion is Family. I know that without a strong family, you really can't achieve or reach one's full potential.

I know too much about ...

I know too much about "nothing". Not one person on this Earth can ever know too much. The more you learn, the greater person you can become. I'm always trying to learn something new, because I know that everyone can learn something from your fellow man.

My parents always told me ...

My parents always told me to treat people the way you want to be treated, and never judge a book by it's cover. My parents also taught me to not dwell on your misfortunes or shortcomings, but to use those mistakes and capitalize on them and achieve and succeed.

My childhood ambition ...

My childhood ambition was to make my Mother proud. I have never been a material type of person, therefore self-gratification was and still is at the top of my list.

My favorite memory ...

My favorite memory was the birth of my Daughter, because it truly was the first time I felt an urgency to apply myself fully.

Why I write ...

I write because when I write, I feel that I am sharing and making a difference.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Various

My first job ...

My first job was a telecommunications specialist in the U.S. Navy.

My best moment ...

My best moment was coming home from work, and being greeted at the door with a big hug from my Daughter.

My inspiration ...

My inspiration is my Daughter, because she always attempts to mimic me.

Do real men cry? Does it really make a person any less or any greater, because they shed tears? I mean who is really the authority on being a real man or a real woman?

I really can care less what people may think of me shedding a tear here and there. When I was a child I used to think boys and men were not supposed to cry, and boy was I a very sensitive boy, and to be quite honest, I still am and see nothing wrong with it.

I think it shows that you are human, with feelings about things that affect the world. I get choked up on many situations, whether it is hearing horrible storie...
