My name is Stacy. I am 28, married, and have two daughers, 8 and 3. I have four dogs, two horses and two fish. I live in NC on a 72 acre farm that has been in my family for over 100 years. I am currently unemployed and am going after my dream of becoming an accomplished author. Also, I don't bother trying to impress my readers with a lot of mumbo jumbo and big words that I would have to look up in the dictionary or thesaurus. I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

As I sat curled like a kitten in my overstuffed chair, I lay down my novel and basked in the warmth of the crackling fire. I closed my eyes and pulled the flannel blanket higher around my neck. I began to think. I love Winter. I love the smells. The ginger and cinnamon wafting from the kitchen filled my nostrils and reminded me of simpler times when I was a girl in my mama's kitchen. I love the smell in the air right before the snow falls. I love the sights. I opened my eyes and gazed out the window. The trees, bare and naked, had taken on a magical glow as the ice froze to their branches....
