I have always wanted to be a writer. Even as a child I would write fantasy stories and poems and all that stuff. Growing up, I knew it would be hard to break into the business and not immediately financially feasible. So I waited until I had a career that could both support me and my boys, as well as allow for time to write.
Helium is the bouncing board for all my other writing to be started. I am hoping to build confidence with my writing, as well as learn to fine tune my style. I want to write for others to feel involved in the story.
I love Jesus Christ and live to serve him, but I'm not your typical "bible thumper" type. I live a life of passion, continuously reaching for the stars and trying to bring as many along the journey as I can. I love to see people laugh and smile, and the smell of fresh cut grass makes my body totally relax.
Going for hikes in the hills and mountains gives me inspiration for life and also to write. Although I enjoy being around people, getting away from it all on those hikes brings me so much peace. I can hear my own thoughts and breath, I can feel the air against my skin. I feel both vulnerable and protected all at once during those times.

To survive the emotional stress of a recession, one needs to focus on the positives that can occur during this time. You may wonder, "what positives could there be?". I personally had struggles coming up with things that seemed positive when faced with this economic downturn but as time has gone on, it has become easier to see. A few things that I have found beneficial for me, my family and others in our city is that frivolous spending has gone down, jobs have become appreciated and values have been put into perspective.
