My ambition is to become a writer. Writing is a process and a journey. Since I was a child, I knew that writing was what I was born to do.
On frequent trips to the library, my siblings and I would sometimes check out 20 books each! The librarian wasn't too happy with us, and needless to say, we had many library fines for lost or damaged books.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, eldest of six children, and daughter of middle-class parents, reading was my escape as a child. I think I wouldn't be who I am today without books. Through reading I learned about the world.
The reason writing is so important to me is that I believe it the most important medium to influence one's world. My first love is children's literature and I want to help contribute to today's youth by helping children be children.

Chicago attracts tourist from around the world. Words like windy, blues, hotdogs, pizza, and baseball speak to the culture of a city that is like a little NYC.
