I'm Debbie, recruiter by day, student by night, and hopefully professional writer sometime in the future. Right now writing is a hobby, and I am lucky to make a few pennies at it.
I am most interested in journalistic writing, especially where I can express my opinion. I write book reviews for www.onceuponaromance.net, which I enjoy a lot, but I don't get paid. I do get free books out of the deal, so that helps, but I hope someday to work for a newspaper or magazine that will be a bit more lucrative. In the meantime, I'm obtaining my bachelors degree in business management and will get my masters degree in Library Science.

American Idol, since it blasted on to the scene in 2002, has been a vehicle for several excellent singers to have successful careers. Idol winners such as Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jordan Sparks, and Fantasia Barino have all achieved levels of success and recognition far beyond what they likely imagined when walking in for their first auditions. However, as successful as some of the winners have become, it seems that some of the most successful and popular former American Idols were not only not winners, but did not even make it in to the final three.
