I am a 30 year old single mother who chooses to learn things the hard way. I'm an avid blogger, and I figured I may as well give this place a try. I would like to get into some freelance writing and I figure this is the best place to start!

Aside from Helium, my first book, "Life, Love and Dreams" is available at Lulu.com.  My next book, "Fairy Tale Magic" is due to come out soon.  I hope you'll check out not only my work here, but my webpage and published works as well!

My passion is ...

I LOVE to sing. It's hard to ever catch me not singing. I also enjoy reading and writing.

I know too much about ...

The space program. I was always a NASA geek in high school, so I know a lot of trivia about NASA, particularly the Apollo Program.

My parents always told me ...

I had a vivid imagination.

My childhood ambition ...

I wanted to be an astronaut.

My favorite memory ...

Christmas day 2003. I took my daughter to the movies and after we got out it was raining. We ran to the car and laughed. It was as if time went in slow motion and perfection was captured in that moment. The next day, I was deployed to Texas. It was a nice memory to hold onto.

Why I write ...

I write because I love to write. I can't think of a better reason.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Long Trip Alone by Dierks Bentley. It's a beautiful song and it's stuck in my head.

My first job ...

Babysitter! Okay, AFTER I graduated, I joined the Army.

My best moment ...

Making it through childbirth.

My inspiration ...

My daughter.

Walking silently among the waves She is slowly pulled from shore Further into the sea she goes Until we see her nevermore Sadly walking she doesn't see How her life is slowly fading Sand rushes up and over her feet Deeper in the water she's wading Now it covers up her waist But she doesn't seem to care Salty water splashes her face And now she is no longer there In the depths her life is over Ending in a watery grave Long live her, there she lies A girl that no one could ever save
