Cedric McClester has a Masters of Science in Education from Fordham University and is a noted journalist/ writer. The Legend of Nia Umoja is his second book on the Gumbs & Thomas imprint. His first book, "Kwanzaa, Everything You Always Wanted To Know, But Didn't Know Where To Ask:" published in 1985, is the best selling book on the topic of Kwanzaa, the African-American cultural holiday founded in 1967 by Dr. Maulana Karenga. He has written for national and international publications, including the New York Times, Daily News and their Sunday Magazine, Black Enterprise, Modern Black Men, Swing Uptown Magazine, Positive Community Magazine, Amsterdam News, The Connection Newspaper and Big Red Newspaper, among others. People and Politics is a political column that Mr. McClester publishes three times weekly. It is his hope that the column will eventually be syndicated nationally. Mr. McClester lectures extensively. The Boston native is married and resides in New York City.
