I am not a brand.
I'm 45, British and a part of the growing international movement to move humanity beyond its early, religious phase. I like a nice turn of phrase, and I like to amuse. My goal is to earn a living by writing.
Between frenzied bouts of sacrilege, I often write about sport. I'm most fond of soccer, and I have a season ticket for the majestic Bristol City, but I'm also very fond of US sport. Major League Baseball and the National Football League are televised live here, which means that to me they happen in the wee small hours of the morning. I like the Boston Red Sox and the Green Bay Packers. I dislike the New York Yankees (although that Derek Jeter's a hell of a player, isn't he?), and the Dallas Cowboys.
One of my favourite things about American sports is that all my friends absolutely loathe it, which gives me my own private little world that I don't have to share with anyone. Sometimes my excitement needs to burst into print though, and there's no point in doing it in my blog, so I tend to bottle it up. From now on, I shall splurge it all over you. You lucky, lucky people.
To encourage me, simply click on of those oh so enticing adverts on the left there. Tip: right-click, and choose Open in New Window. That way it won't interfere with your pleasure at my bon mots.
There's a good one, just there. "Conservative Humanism", it says. "Humanism that values life, liberty and not a slave to Secular Liberalism". Not a slave to grammar either, it seems. Go on, click on their link, then you can email them some abuse.
Yes, I know you can't see it. That was the point of my whimsy. Do try and keep up.

Why the Bible isn't 100% true Listen up all you fundamentalists. When I say fundamentalists, I mean people who believe every word in the Bible is true. It also works for people who think the Old Testament is questionable, but everything in the New Testament is true. Here's the easiest demonstration I know that the Bible isn't entirely true. Got your Bible? Good. The King James one, obviously. We don't want any of your trendy nonsense about relevance and accessibility in here. Turn to Matthew Chapter 1 verses 1 to 17. It's easy to find, it's right at the beginning of the New Testament. You'...
