I am 34, single, and live in the Hudson Valley of New York.
I have been writing poetry for a few years now, and find myself being most passionate about nature poetry. I was happy to find Helium, a place where I could share a portion of my work with a larger audience. I also enjoy reading the work of other "unknowns" :)

I am partial to the writings of Wendel Berry, Nicholas Christopher, Pablo Neruda, Basho, Hayden Carruth, Mary Oliver, Arthur Sze, and many others.

Ode to My Bed Each Night I Sleep Naked On your sheets Full of dreams You have become part of me Over time Bearing witness To private moments Of prayer And sickness; Of love, And secrets Whispered unknowingly In the night. A great symbol Of the known Unknown: A flat horizon Between life And death, I return to you Night After Night In diurnal rhythm Sliding Between your sheets Cocooning Between night and day Safely burrowed In your palm As you cradle me In Soft Darkness Till morning comes around.
