About me - Judith W. Monroe

About me

Hi fellow writers.

For the record: I love to write humorous essays. Probably it is my most rewarding approach to topics that strike me as proposterous, silly, or even annoying. There is too much tension in the world, so a little laughter (I laugh while I'm writing sometimes)can help to break the hold momentarily on the tragic events of today's world.

Over the years my work has been published in newspapers. I've also published books on various serious subjects: including personal & group dynamics, a collection of ghost stories, a novel about witchcraft (modern) as well as poetry for little lit mags, essays, and children's stories. My latest attempt at humor is a book entitled The Gypsy Chickens Alphabet. Although it's for kids, it's also for anyone who has ever visited the Florida Keys and met the wild chickens.

My addition to Helium is a questionnaire on chocolate to be taken by anyone who considers her/himself a chocolaholic, or to put it more mildly, a lover of fine chocolate, like the designer 70% cocoa chocolate bars appearing on the market these days. Take the test and let me know how you fare. Judy Monroe

All willing to describe success. Oh god, these rags for the unprepared are wintery, relentless in excusing their mission, always the forecast of "later" in you neck of the woods when longer days and sunshine finally arrive.
