Melissa has a BS in biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana and spent 15 years at a Life Sciences contract research organization. During her time there, she worked in various laboratories, including cell culture, analytical chemistry and formulations.

Melissa has found that writing here on Helium, especially to Marketplace, has helped her improve both writing and research skills. It also has given her a better understanding of what web readers like to read, which helps her guide her clients in creating content to improve their online presence.
