About me

I have had several poems published in local newspapers. I have had several poems published in local newspapers. I also have I was also one of the first Helium writers to publish an article through Marketplace.

Through an article I read here at Helium, I found out about www.freelancewriting.com. I have been a ghostwriter on several paid assignments through this site.

I have been writing since I was 14 years old and I am now 51. I write for many reasons. Sometimes, I think that a Muse possesses me. I wake up in the middle of a night and I cannot wait to put words to paper.
Sometimes I write for friends. Other times I write to handle a difficult moment in my life. Sometimes I write for recognition. It is such a thrill to see my name in print. I also try to write for money.

I am a poet at heart. Nothing really expresses emotion for me like a poem. However, I don't just stick to poetry; I also write fiction and nonfiction too.

I am the mother of 8 children and 17 grandchildren. I am most proud of the fact that I went back to college and got an Associate of Business degree. I did that while my 7 children were young. I also held a part time job. I gave birth to my 8th child halfway through my program but kept on going. I graduated with honors and even was selected and became a member of Phi Theta Kappa (a national honor fraternity for 2-year colleges).

I continue to strive to hone my skills and would like to publish a book sometime in my future.
