I have loved writing since I won an award in 5th grade for my short story, Journey Through The Dark. Since that time I have been an avid reader, writer and speaker focusing mainly on social issues in the realm of Ethics, Law, Religion and Politics. My experiences as Navy lawyer, which were nothing like the once popular TV show JAG, and later as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army, have provided me with a unique view, strong feelings and beneficial insights into many issues.
Aside from letters to the editor, I did not have any of my works published until 1997 when I won the Chief of Chaplains essay contest for my Essay on Leadership, which was later published in The Army Chaplaincy Magazine, Fall 1997. Later while seeking a Masters Degree in Ethics I was asked to write a book review for the Journal of Mass Media Ethics, Volume 16, 2001, which gave me the chance to apply my deep religious convictions to an interesting book on the impact of religion on politics throughout the world. Since then I have published a controversial article "The Effects of Technology on Our Humanity" in Parameters, the prestigious journal of military studies associated with the Army War College. That article led to a request from another journal, World Defense Systems, of the United Kingdom, for me to write a related article on the ethical considerations behind using unmanned vehicles. That article was published in 2002. Recently I published a book about those who have taken the life calling of attacking my faith group. It is called Whited Tombs, and was written mainly as a defense of Mormonism which I claim as my faith. I have also published "God, Our Eternal Father: And His Ministry to our World" a kinder, gentler book, focused on debunking the "God is Dead" myth. I am currently working on a Fiction Novel about the conversion of a Taliban Fighter to Christianity.
When not working or writing, my love and attention are focused on my wife of 23 years and our eight children, many of whom share my love for both reading and writing.
Since I am currently serving in the U.S. Army I am not able to publish the papers and works, which I have written on topics related to my duties as a Chaplain, on this site. Those papers, such as one on civil prayer, and another about chaplains carrying weapons must wait until after I retire. My current status also requires that I place disclaimers in my books. Similarly, it should be noted that the views expressed in my articles are solely mine and do not represent official policy or doctrine of the United States Army, Department of Defense, or any other organization...but they are still worth reading.

Please read this entire article, and do not dismiss it as homophobia or hate mongering. To do so is to misjudge the writers true position on homosexuality. The fact is that this article, like my support of Proposition 8, are loved based. It is my love for God and all his children that motivates me to stand boldly for the truth. Here are some reasons why in my view Proposition 8 should be passed.
The bottom line is that homosexual conduct is immoral, harmful, and eternally devastating to all those who engage in it. Based on that premise the following points refute all claims to the contr...
