I am a woman whose motto is: I do not want to die having never_________________. That is why at 67 years old, I have written a book, visited Africa, whitewater rafted in Costa Rica, zip lined through rain forests, taken a walking tour of the Baltic states, write poetry, have a Bible study at a retirement center, teach a Sunday School class where the youngest person is 88, am a counselor at a local high school, follow every high school, college, and pro football I can, play fantasy football and usually win my league, have a pot-belly pig, am a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 7, have dog sleded in wyoming, rafted in Montana, snow mobiled all over Yellowstone, have been on jumbo trons in New York City, been to Indy 4 times, bought the new Nascar package on Directv this spring, went to a Saints playoff game and had maybe the best time of my life in the streets after the game, have a myspace that all of my high students and alumni visit to say hello, love God, and here is the great thing, I am just getting started. The Bible says this, "Behold, everyday I do a new thing." I believe it and I do not want to miss it!

I wondered as a child what made a season come. There would just appear a Christmas tree or a stocking or a drum. Then, of course, I would want spring to come with warmth or sun to tell me it was time to play and have slide and swing set fun. But then it all came clear to me that the April rites of spring come with a frog,a skinned little knee, and a pocket full of string.
