Me?! I'm a daydreamer at heart.
My husband and I will be married five years this summer. He works incredibly hard so that our little girl and I can stay home together and experience the joys of life. We love to spend time together as a family, but it is never long enough. My dream is that my husband and I could both work from home, so that he could experience the beauty of childhood and life that I get to soak up every day.
I appreciate God's beautiful creation and adore being outdoors. For fun, I like hiking, gardening, lying in the grass...my idea of a great time! We spend quite a bit of time with family, but our largest commitment is to our church. We belong to the OCA (Orthodox Church of America), which is miracle in and of itself. Maybe I'll write a few articles about it someday soon. I will say this though: God is merciful.
I'm looking forward to raising my daughter and home-schooling her. America is indeed a land of great opportunities, but along with that comes massive chances of getting off track. I want to raise an incredibly moral, virtuous, and compassionate child. I know that this will not just happen, but my husband and I are completely dedicated to working toward this goal.
I love the way words flow and can be manipulated to create an image. It's magic! I do not think myself a fantastic writer, but I hope to be one day! Helium offers a unique opportunity and I'm looking forward to getting more involved. Hopefully one day I can funnel all my dreams and ideas into words and create!
It is detrimental to a child to base their self-worth on physical, material things such as a birthday party. By focusing too intensely on celebrations and parties, our children are no longer the center of attention, but instead they are in the center ring of a crazy, demented circus. My daughter's last birthday (two years) was a large event, held one Sunday afternoon at a park and cost my husband and I much more than we could afford.
