: About Me

Near and far, damp and dry, high and low altitude, city and country, East and West of the Atlantic, I have lived in so many places. Now I can honestly say, there is no place like home. I grew up and went to school in Bergen County, N.J. in the 1950s and 1960s. I graduated High School and married, moving with my new husband to Switzerland. This match was not to be, after an eight year marriage I returned home and went back to nursing school. I remarried and followed my dear husband to Colorado. I am now back on the North East Coast of the USA in a suburb of a major city with my dear husband and son. We have a century old colonial in a well established town.

Last summer I expanded my small garden to grow more vegetables, herbs and flowers. The roses this year are amazing, so big and so many. I have over flowing vases everywhere in the house and I am giving them to everyone just to keep from needing to deadhead them.

I am a nurse and have been for thirty plus years. I believe that knowledge, hoarded and not shared, is wasted knowledge, and so I write both here at Helium and on Associated Content.

My son graduated from a Maritime University.  He managed to maintain Deans List grades straight through so far! This is completely unexpected as he was a mediocre student in High School. We are pleasantly surprised.

to be myself and that self education was it's own reward.

My childhood ambition ...

was to own a horse farm with a dog kennel and to own a design studio.

is an easy choice, hands down, the birth of my son.

reading; JMA's Earth's Children. Watching; watching is changing always, often PBS. Listening, anything but Rap, just can not get into that..

after baby sitting as a teen was in a womens clothing design office.
