About me - Mr. Jay L.

About me

I am a 32 year old military veteran and computer geek with an infatuation with SciFi/Fantasy, Renaissance Faire, my Scottish heritage (1743 and earlier), and high-tech network technology.

I possess a degree in Computer Information Systems, and accidentally earned a degree in Geography and Liberal Arts in the process; I've decided to pursue a Bachelors degree in Geography and Geographical Information Systems.

Cramming as much as possible between a full time job and twenty units of college, I occasionally produce custom chainmail jewelry, write my first fantasy novel and a book about my experiences in the military, play with both my long-time girlfriend and my Jack Russell Terrier, and sleep.

Briefly me

I know too much about ...

Star Trek, Star Wars, Kilts, and too many other things

My parents always told me ...

"You talk too much." Now they tell me, "Speak more often."

My childhood ambition ...

was to join the military and become a meteorologist.

My favorite memory ...

My graduation from both Basic Training and Advanced Training

Why I write ...

It is the only way to keep the voices in my head quiet.

My first job ...

I worked in a movie theater

My best moment ...

My divorce. Not surprisingly my worst moment, too.

My inspiration ...

Cloudy, rainy forests; Mid-Atlantic autumn; and my empty wallet.

I managed a variety of projects and programs, civilian and military personnel, a...
