Living forever's alternatives are clearly preferable to many. Yes, death is much better than living. Worm rotting, bacteria spawning, putrid flesh lying in a dank, cold pine box is far better than being "forced" to live. Naturally, outliving all of your peers is horrible. Old people are clearly incapable of making new friends, so your immortal existance will be a solitary morass of misery and despair.
