About me - Samuel Bowcock

About me

Born and raised in an ever developing market town, in rural Staffordshire, England. Childhood spent playing computer games that involved moving from left to right, jumping, punching and occasionally both (Streets of Rage for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis).

Now making my home (30 weeks of the year) just outside of Nottingham (home of outlaw and champagne socialist, Robin Hood), where I attend the lesser of the city's two Universities (no matter what the prospectus says). And spend my time listening, reading and watching. And chewing.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

friends, family and lovers. Not in any particular order.

I know too much about ...

... (how can you know too much about something?)

My parents always told me ...

"keep your chin up". My uncle always told me "the hilarious nature of farts isn't obvious to everyone".

My childhood ambition ...

Office employee. Archaeologist. Writer.

My favorite memory ...

A road trip around Scotland with my folks, and Grandmama. We stayed in a log cabin.

Why I write ...

To spread an idea, or a laugh.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

right now? Across the Universe by The Beatles. But most of the time it is Tom Waits.

My first job ...

'Washing up whipping boy' was the official title.

My best moment ...

Meeting my lady friend, normally I get nervous and blurt out nonsense when I meet people, but I've been told I was quite, get this, dashing.

My inspiration ...

Hicks. Uncle Pete. Kerouac. Tom Waits.

I didn't clock nearly enough playtime on A Link to the Past in ...
