About me - Vic Robinson

aboutme

Hi folks,

I first heard about this site on the Kim Komando show this past weekend and it sounded like the perfect fit for someone who likes to write. I wrote down the website on a paper bag and Googled it when I got home. I don't catch Kim's show very often, but I'm a big fan and would recommend her show to any of you who haven't caught it.

I'm not really sure yet what sort of articles I'll write in here, as I have interests in history, politics, genealogy, photography, music, sports, martial arts, camping, travel, and nature in general. Whatever I write, I'll be happy to discuss with any who comment, including any critical reviews.

I don't like to write about myself, and it seems strange starting each sentence with "I", however I realize that's the intention of this "aboutme" page. Anyway, I am just finishing a year on the Advisory Board for our local newspaper, to whom I contributed five articles. We were limited to 500 words, so I will probably try to keep articles in that range.

That's it for now, hope to hear from you folks.

Does anyone outside of Appalachia actually care about mountaintop removal? We had all three presidential contenders here in West Virginia for the primaries and not a single one of them would address the issue. Limbaugh and Hannity continually rail against our so-called liberal senators, the Hon. Byrd and Rockefeller, yet neither of them will dare say anything against the practice, they are too beholden to the coal company campaign dollars to risk that. It is not just West Virginia that is effected by this scourge on the landscape, it is happening through the Appalachian chain.
