Bob Schmidt, your Business Steward, at your service. My membership in Helium began in January of 2007, and has changed many things in my life. I write, rate, and read on the Helium site instead of other less worthwhile activities that used to occupy my personal time.

My team of sub stewards are the source of great pride for me personally. Leigh Goessl has been my right arm, overseeing the Management, and Online Business sub channels. Due to her hard work, many weak titles have been improved, and new exciting titles have been seeded into their appropriate channels.

Marilyn Lindblad has assumed the sub stewardship of the Entrepreneurial sub channel, and areas involving legal issues. Being a corporate lawyer, she is obviously capable of major contributions, both as a writer and steward in her areas of expertise.

Todd Pheifer is our sub steward with activity in Human Resources, and other areas of interest. He has been recently joined by Jimmie Eriksson who will work in advertising and marketing areas.

Effie Salem is assisting in the Business News area with a keen eye to title problems. She keeps me informed of problem areas quite efficiently.

Will Kester is a special helper within the Business Channel, not officially a steward, but active in the Forum with timely comments.

There is room for many more helpers within the Business area. Moreover, any volunteer can select activities that match their interest areas, as well as time restrictions.

To all who read these remarks, welcome to the world of Business! All suggestions are welcomed, with appreciation.

Motivation to share business experiences with others should be the first consideration when you decide to contribute an article. My personal reasons for sharing fall into the following areas.

Enlighten Others

Some of my personal experiences may help someone else avoid making a needless mistake. Each of us has unique information that may not be common knowledge, and by sharing we help one another. Regardless of education, practical knowledge is useful; sometimes beyond what books can teach. Some of life's greatest lessons come from the least likely of sources.
