I am a retired public school teacher, elementary school principal, and district curriculum director. I taught a graduate class at Fordham University entitled, "Issues and Trends in Education." While working it was difficult for me to find the time in order to take the time to do what I truly love to do and that is to write. Much to my wife's chagrin I have spent probably too much time hunched over the keyboard.
Obviously, the topics closest to my professional knowledge base have something to do with children and their education. There does not seem to be any shortage of things to write about for that target group encompassing ages five to eighteen.
One of the strongest influences on me personally was the time I spent in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. The Cold War was heating up, but this was peace time. The Army felt that I had some skills, unknown to me at the time, that suggested I could probably be a good teacher. I became an instructor and when I got out of the Army I decided to go to college to become a teacher.

Why I write ...
I write mainly because you can reread and rewrite before it is read. That is, unlike talking it's a way of taking something back before it is read by someone who may be offended.

The usual; lots of novels mysteries are my favorites/Jeopardy and 24 are my favorite shows and I love listening to oldies and classical music.
