CHRIS PAVEY holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours from Monash University. For this degree he undertook a double major in History and Politics and then subsequently completed his Honours Thesis on Medieval Middle Eastern History. His thesis focussed upon the use of religion in Medieval Politics and the broader ramifications of this policy. Following his graduation, Chris undertook a 2 year teaching assignment in Japan and then a further 1 year assignment in Prague, The Czech Republic, teaching English as a Second Language in both countries. Upon his return to Australia, he embarked upon a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Canberra, which he will complete by the close of 2007.
Chris has been published in the Flash Fiction web magazine Heavy Glow (Issue #7: Winter December 2006), for his piece entitled 'Existence', which has since been published in the magazine's Anthology, HeavyGlow Flash Fiction: Two Years Burning Brightly. His essay, 'Capitalism: The Opium of the Masses', was published in Dissent Magazine (Issue 23 Autumn / Winter 2007), and his Flash Fiction Historical Fantasy piece, 'Assassin's Sorrow', was published in the July/August edition of the highly respected AntipodeanSF Australian web magazine. A second Flash Fiction piece of his, 'The Poisoning', has been slated for publication in this same magazine in February 2008.

Global Warming is the issue of our generation. It is in the media on a daily basis. It even was the deciding factor in Australia's recent election. To deny Global Warming is occurring is to close your eyes and peg your ears with your fingers and to hum a lullaby. It exists. The earth is warming.
