My name is Mia and I'm from The Styxx. I've grown up in a small town, you have to drive 15 minutes just to get anywhere. It's quiet out here but I like it. My parents have been together for over 20 years now. They married when they were only 18 and 19 so that everlasting relationship has pretty much based my look out on life and love. I have an older brother. He can be a pain in the butt, but I love him all the same. I have been writing since I was 11. I'm sure I made songs up before then but that was the time I actually began writing everything down. Writing for me is a way to communicate. I've never really been all that good with words, but somehow when I write it all just flows. There is nothing but craziness inside my mind, having said that I'll have you know that I am hardly ever bored! There's always lyrics floating around in my head and if I don't write them down as soon as I find them they're lost forever.

When I was younger I went through a lot. In my almost twenty years I've mourned over ten deaths, two of which were suicides. I kept all of my feeling inside, the only release or even comfort from these tragedies came from a pen and a piece of paper. I initially began writing in school for essays and such, but as I grew older it became a way out, so to speak. Now I write to let go and ease the weight off of my chest.
