Longboarding: One big rush

So, I finally took the plunge and ordered a longboard. I did alot of shopping around before I bought it. All the standard boards (sector nine) are just old news. I then found the brand I would end up ordering from, Bustin boards. A kid in my school had one, and I thought it was pretty trick. I was also able to get a 10% discount from him. The thing thats great about Bustin is that they let you design your own graphics. You can pick the design, colors, even the color of the bustin logo on the top of the deck! I went ahead and ordered a complex deck with Avenger trucks and avalon wheels. They currently have 3 deck designs available. The Spliff (31"), the Cigar (38"), and the complex (42"). The base price is about $180.

When I first opened the package, I was amazed at the quality of the paint job. it also didn't weigh as much as I thought it would. The board also includes a copious amount of stickers, little postcards like things, and a few 10% off discount cards. First ride out, whenever I pushed, my foot tended to hit the rear wheel. I was used to pushing normal skateboard, not a longboard. This problem went away in about 1 week once I got used it. The board also held up very well to rain. the board didnt feel waterlogged, and everything still works just like it was new. Sadly, I havent the chance to hit any "real" hills on it, but the small one's in my area are perfect for it. The complex suites my style of riding very well. You can go maybe 50' on one push! The only downside is that this board is impossible to nose manual. The trucks are right on the front with no overhang of the deck at all. It does manual rather well though. It carves extremely well. The board has amazing "pop" out of the corners and I have been carving hills every day since I got it. I love it! I've been using for transportation as well as fun. Its great in both aspects. www.bustinboards.com
