Why we make bad choices in life

Why do we make bad choices in life? Are those choices really bad? It depends on who you are and your perspective.

I think we are destined to do and respond to things in different ways. A choice may seem bad, but is it possible that you are predisposed to do certain things and to react a certain way?

Maybe you make a certain choice because you need to learn a lesson on experience something now to be prepared for something later.

I know we have all regretted a decision we made in the past. Once you've gone through a situation you always look back and think that you could have done something different. You always imagine that somehow the situation would have turned out better if only you had made the "right" choice.

Well, the decision you make at a particular moment is the right decision for that moment. I say this because that is the only decision you made at the time. Why worry about something you didn't do?

We base our choices on many different factors. If you are driving down the road and you make a left turn and have a car accident, do you think your were in the accident because you didn't make the right turn? Would the choice to go a different route have prevented you from getting into a car accident? Did you make the wrong decision? Suppose you were meant to be in an accident and it wouldn't have mattered if you went right or left.

You've been married for 20 years and are bitterly unhappy. You think back at a certain point during the dating phase of your relationship and wonder if you had ended your romance then, if things would be different now. Maybe or maybe not. But the choice you made to stay in the relationship was based off of the information you had at that time. Who's to guarantee if you ended the relationship way back when that you would be happy with someone else? Does this mean you made the wrong choice? To me, no. It just means you made the choice you were meant to make. Now, can you make the choice to be happy?

I don't think there are any wrong choices. We simply make our decisions based of off the circumstances we are in during a particular moment. The choices we make obviously effects us. It's those choices that bring us to a certain point and then propels us forward through our lives. Therefore, we can never really make a bad choice.
