The Halloween story goes that there was a small place once where only a few people lived. Well one day a dark force came to town and the whole town was scared. The evil spirit tried to kill everyone and put all his ghosts and scary monsters and creatures around town. His witches did spells and killed all the flowers, stopped the water and the sun from shining and the music from playing. Even worse than that the evil spirit and his scary monsters started fires everywhere and even burned down some of the town's houses. Life just stopped, the trees started to die as well and there wasn't much food. The moon and stars didn't even come out at night. The whole town was scared, so scared that they all hid together in small houses they built in a space in the woods.

Well one night, when the whole town was in darkness some friendly ghosts and witches came out to play. Everyone in the town was in the woods trying to keep warm by burning small fires they made out of old card and paper they brought with them when they left their homes.

The ghosts, started trying to play games. Usually they haunted the children to make them laugh as it was only the children really who ever believed they were there. Sometimes, some of the young people and adults played with them and even asked them to play tricks on their friends. The witches were ready to start some trouble too. Flying around on their witches broomsticks they would do some magic spells. They hoped that somebody would be there so they could do some love spells and even bring money to those who wanted it.

But when they came to the town they found it was all in darkness and noone was there. The ghosts felt sad and the witches set off to find their friends. The ghosts followed them into the woods. Suddenly one of the witches saw some lights and told the others. They must have found them but what had happened?

When they found them they asked one of the children what had happened. They told the witches and the ghost that an evil spirit and his witches had come and ruined the whole town, even the sun didn't shine. The ghosts were very upset and the witches annoyed. This ghost spirit had stopped all the magic and games they played here but what could they do? They told the children and their friends not to worry and set about thinking of different ways to get the evil spirit out of the town and take away the magic he had done. Some of the young people tried to tell their friends that the witches and ghosts were going to scare the spirit away but they didn't believe them. All they thought was that they had all gone mad because of what had happened. And it seemed they were right.

Three whole days passed by and things stayed the same. Then suddenly one morning one of the children started shouting and waking everyone up. The sun was shining and flowers and trees had come back again. Everybody knew what had happened and believed the friendly witches and ghosts had sent the evil spirit, his witches and scary monsters away.

That night the whole town decided to have a party. They made special food and planned some games for the ghosts and asked for some spells from the witches. Everybody was very happy and they all danced and laughed until very late. They even dressed up as witches, ghosts and monsters. They were so grateful to their new friends that they gave them some money and promised them that every year they would have a special party to celebrate just for them.
