Ode to Alicia
Rosebud blooming,
beautiful and sweet,
in red and pink and white.
Odd, though, is this special bud:
inside red, outside pink;
white, her bright full light.
Odder yet,
it seems to me,
is that she's rooted as a tree.
Stranger still,
and how unknown,
than trunked and glowing,
and two tone,
is how this rosebud
blooming bright and bold,
was made by God of solid gold.
