Parents lead the way in teaching their children about homosexuality, whether they should or should not. Schools merely reinforce, or offer counter-perspective, to what children learn from their parents.

Leading the way is discipline. Children learn more from watching people than they do from books, and they most generally watch their parents.

Teaching children about homosexuality is not done by textbook instruction of what it is and how it is performed. It is in not sending conflicting messages to children, such as they are to respect people, and then not showing respect to people who are homosexual.

Of course, one also needs to address child molesters with children, but that is an issue seperate from homosexuality. Children need to be wary of both genders, regardless of their own, on that issue. They need not, however, be wary of most gay and lesbian people. In truth, they need to be far more wary of close relatives and friends who may prey upon undeserved trust.

Parents do need to lead the way in teaching children that homosexual people are people with a tag attached; further, that if we are ever to achieve freedom in this country, we need to replace all the tags with one: just people.
