If you are into music that is coming out of Ireland, then be prepared for a lot of great works coming from this country at the moment, including this latest release by Cormac O'Caoimh.

Start a Spark features the fresh confident songwriting that an artist such as O'Caoimh can pull off and give a promising future. It is charming music that will take the listener back to the days of real indie-style folk music, bringing a smile to many faces.

The tracks are poppy and catchy, and the arrangements are flawless. Both the writing and the execution, if not perfect, are certainly close to it.

Though it is difficult to choose a favorite track from this particular album, the title track, along with "Lazy Gazing" and "View of the World" are just a few favorites of my own.

In any case, the entire collection of songs on Start a Spark is uplifting, danceable, with poetic lyrics that are just marvelously outstanding.

O'Caoimh gives his songs even more depth and personality through careful and impressive volume control with his voice and guitar; too fresh and refreshing to be mere copyist, this collection of works also shows that he is just as much a very expressive and engaging performer as he is a talented songwriter.

Start a Spark will be available on August 17 on 220 worldwide iTunes sites and 100 commercial sites including Wippit, HMV, Virgin, Sony PSP, MSN Mobile, Orange, Tesco and others. The CD release to record stores is slated for September.

The album is a cause of celebration throughout; O'Caoimh's quest for tunefulness brings out a merciful musical package of exemplary and masterful piece of work in the musical content, lyrics and vocals, and is worth checking out.
